Easter Fun at Home!

Having fun at  Easter is something you can do no matter where you are. It may not be as easy to enjoy those classic Easter Egg hunts but you can still make them happen if you try hard enough. We’re coming into a four day weekend, with Bank Holiday Friday and Bank Holiday Monday. So let’s make the most of it all and start celebrating all across the weekend. Now as Easter is a religious event, you can find many articles all about how to celebrate it online. We will be talking about the fun activities you can take part in alone, whomever is in your house with you, or friends and family online too.

You can start with dying your Easter Eggs. Even though yes this is seen as a kids activity, there’s no harm in the adults giving it a go, and who knows how competitive it can get too. All you need to do is hard boil your eggs, once you’ve done that you can get creative. You can put water, vinegar, and food colouring into bowls and dip your eggs to get a full colour. You can also use small paint brushes to put patterns on them too. You don’t have to use this method either, you can just use watercolor paints as well. Rubber bands are a good way to put patterns across your eggs too. There is absolutely no limit to how you decorate your eggs. Here’s so many traditional ways, or you can do pop culture references to. It’s all up to you.

Now you can do something very sweet and send out some lovely Easter Egg cards too, with all the extra time indoors you can take the time to make your own cards, decorate them all pretty and easter themed. We did previously do an article about sending letters to friends, so now you can do it for Easter too. Everyone will appreciate that extra little step right now. Use all the bright colours, and maybe you can recreate the egg you dyed in your card to show off too.

You may be getting a bit hungry now so it’s perfect to pull out all the classic Easter food and snacks to make and njoy, you can make enough for yourself, or keep yourself stacked up for the rest of the week, it’s up to you. There are so many sweet or savoury dishes for you to make including cakes, treats, and full meals. You can get competitive with friends and family by all making the same thing over facetime,  zoom etc and see who gets the best presentation. Try making a pan of brownies look like a garden for your own mini easter egg hunt and add minie eggs and creme eggs for prizes.

Now to get onto the virtual Easter Egg Hunt, this isn’t easy, but if you plan it right, it can be loads of fun for friends and family. You’re going to be doing lots of jobs to make this work, you'll be the host, tour guide, prize giver, everything. So if you’re up to the task here’s how to do it. You will need to get a bunch of eggs, you can make them and dye them yourself like we mentioned earlier onj. You can buy them at your essential shop, or you can cut them out of A4 paper and decorate them. Either way, make sure you get a bunch of eggs so everyone involved gets a chance. Once everyone has logged onto their chosen videochat, you can facetime, zoom, houseparty, anything that works best for everyone. You can use your back camera to slowly walk around your house, explain where you are to everyone, take it slow. Show off all the areas, and let your p[layers have a go at guessing where they are and pointing it out to you. It’s pretty simple when you think about it. You can add hints like playing ‘Hot’ or ‘Cold’ depending on how close they are to them. Now once everyone has gotten all the eggs, there’s no way you can get them to their winners right now, so realoly there isn;t any harm in eating them right?

We hope you've enjoyed some of these fun Easter ideas, let us know what you do!
