A Day Out In Islington!

Islington is and always has been a great place to venture whether it’s for a weekend of just a couple hours. There is so much variety of things to do that can keep you busy no matter the type of people you’re with! With bars, restaurants, vintage markets, theatres, cinemas, and even beautiful walks you’re covered even with the smallest of budgets!

You can start your day by bagging a bargain at Chapel Market. Stareets markets are becoming less and less common throughout London because of the big brands taking everything they can, but out at Chapel Market there are stalls that cover everything you’d see on the set of Eastenders. Fruit, veg, clothing, homeware, the lot of it! Maybe pick up a couple cute bits and pieces are just listen to the people peddling their 3 tonnes of strawberries for just a pound.

Then head down to Camden Passage where there are dozens of antique and vintage stores surrounded by coffee shops and pubs. Mixed in with all of this is lots of market pop up stalls selling almost everything from religious collectibles, and luggage. If you’re out on Thursday or Friday there is an entire book market for you to venture round to find some classics! If you need to pick up a cute gift there’s lots of modern gift shops too just in case you’re a bit behind on a birthday gift for the friend you;re seeing this evening.

Once you’ve had enough walking around you can head over to ‘The Screen On The Green’ A small venue hosting a red neon lit cinema, with a jumble of sofas, chairs, stools and more. This venue tends to stick with the new releases, and maybe throwing in a director's cut here and there. If that’s not enough for you they also have a fully stocked bar, lots of goodies and a great Mediterranean menu.  If you’ve got a sweet tooth they also have giant jars of sweets and buckets of butter-drenched popcorn too. So you can head here for some great snacks, and a comfy sofa whilst you sit back and relax to enjoy the newest film out right now!

Now, it’s probably about time you get some real dinner in you before heading for your night out. Now’s best to head over to Little Georgia. A beautiful restaurant that exudes the classic culture of Georgia. Old telephones, traditional drinking horns and some heavily political graphic posters are all there to truly set the mood for you. The menu however is completely different. Heavily inspired by Europe and Asia you can have starters like russian salads, and very moreish cheese-filled breads. Then there’s great homely mains like beef stew which is called ‘Chashuchuli’. There’s lots of variety and surely some things that you've not tasted before! Then the best bit is their extensive wine list, so you can get started for the rest of your evening.

Now, heading off to a beautiful location that’s perfect to catch up with friends, and listening to music whilst trying a few too many of what their bar offers. Dead Dolls House is the kind of place that can offer you whatever kind of night you;re needing. With lots of different rooms with pretty names like the ‘library, ‘the ballroom’ and the ‘drawing room’ you can really feel like you’re out on a fancy night out with your friends. Whilst all the rooms play different music you can hop around the rooms for whatever you;re feeling. Every room is beautifully decorated and has that perfect instagram pic opportunity. They even hold weddings here so if you find the person of your dreams here you can start planning immediately. It’s recommended you try their ‘Anniversary Fizz’, it’s gin, Aperol, lemon, passion fruit, and egg white. A couple of them will have you not worrying about your bank after that full day out in Islington.

We hope you can have a great weekend, or even an hour here or there out in Islington, and our list doesn’t even cover 10% of it all. There is so much for you to try in Islington!
