London's Creative Hot Spots!

London is full of so many opportunities, and chances to do whatever you want, however with this big concrete jungle of buildings creativity can get lost on us sometimes. Those daily commutes start to take a toll and you actually get excited when the ad changes at the station so you have something new to look at. Well there’s a few spots around London where you can escape all of that and really get your hands dirty yourself. Have a creative outburst at any of these spots and we’re sure you’ll jump into a new craft, or take the time to just enjoy the ones you know already.

First off we have an absolute classic, like actually a classic that you know when Christmas comes around each year your nan will be right on the christmas jumpers you can itch all throughout the day wearing. Well at Knit With Attitude you can knit her a jumper right back. As we know, knitting is cool now, right? The little but mighty store in Stoke Newington has all you need to really get stuck in. You can go to their regular workshops to figure out the patterns that even your nan hasn’t got down yet, or if you’re a newbie they’ve got beginner classes too! Intense isn’t a word I’d commonly use in the same sentence as knitting but one of their courses has you using the Japanese crocheting technique to create 3D stuffed animals, so yeah that’s pretty intense. All of their yarn is ethical and eco-friendly too, so if you’re on that bandwagon too as everyone should be then you’re all set.

Next up we’re going onto London Print Club. Ever had amazing ideas for an illustration that you’d love to get printed on just about anything? Well you can do that here. Take a digital picture you’ve created and push all the way through to getting it on t-shirts, tote bags, and your own posters so you can put it on your mum’s fridge and she’ll finally be proud of you. They have lots of different workshops and classes to take you from beginner to more advanced techniques with multiple layers to the printing. Expect to see a pretty full on day in these workshops, but its all for the fun and creativity, so it will be worth it!

Last but far from least we have a great all rounder spot for you with Drink, Shop, and Do. They have so much variety in what they offer, you could spend all week here and not do the same thing twice. You can come down for all the different crafts, stay for the cocktails, and great food. Bookbinding, crocheting, icing cakes, are just a few of the great options on offer. Great space for a fun night, chat, and getting creative with friends and strangers. There great food options to cover every single kind of dietary need, so nobody is going hungry here. Loads of the vents are completely free aswell, as long as you come along and buy just one drink, then you’re in for the fun. A great place to not break the bank at all, but if your craft gets a little bit tricky maybe get another drink to help calm the rage of how Karen next to you is on her third stitch and you’ve fallen off at your first. Paper cutting, musical bingo, and even the interesting activity of decorating a hip flask are even more of the options they have on offer. We really weren’t lying when we said they were an all rounder.

You’re sure to get the creative juices flowing at any of these places, and there is so much more in London to offer you as well, the options are endless.
