Father's Day in London!
Whether you’re the type to splash the cash on events like this or you’re the last minute sainsburys bottle of wine and a card person, Father’s Day is still right around the corner, and you still want your dad to be proud of you right? This year Father’s Day falls on Sunday the 16th, so you’ve only got a couple days to sort this out, but luckily we’ve got options to cover you for every kind of dad out there, or nearly every type. I’m sure you can wing it.
If it’s not too early in the day you could head out to grab a pint, go down to some of the scenic beer gardens in London, or head over to a sports bar if you can handle all of the testosterone. It’s also perfect for the times when you haven’t got all the cash in the world but want to treat your dad to a nice couple of hours, depending on how many drinks he can get through. If the weather isn’t too bad you can go to Hampstead Heath to The Spaniard Inn, an iconic London pub dating back to the 1500’s. They have a walled beer garden, craft beers, and seasonal on tap greats. If you’re not up for that you can scroll down by the Thames and pick out one of the great pubs along there, you’ll definitely find an option that’s right for you.
Now if you either decided not to drink, or now your dad’s had a few and you think you can take a competitive advantage then head over to Roof East’s Social Fun and games Club. There’s batting cages, crazy golf, and urban lawn bowls for you to try out. There’s also some really great food too if you need to soak up the beer from earlier in the day. A great thing about the rooftop is that even if it’s chucking it down, there’s covers so you can still have a great time. Other options for games are Jenga, table tennis, and table-top curling. There’s no way you’ll run out of fun things to do here.
Coming to the end of the day, and you’ve either lost every game or won them all, surely one of you could use a bit of cheering up. For that, there’s no better place to go than a comedy club. The Angel Comedy Club in Camden Head is open every single night of the week, but we’re here for Father’s Day so you’re lucky. The best part about all of this, is that it’s free. Besides all of the great up and coming comedians, you have some absolute classics that come through to try out new material for their upcoming tours and shows. The only thing about it being free, is that it can get packed, so get down there at a good time if you want a seat, or to not be behind the conveniently placed tallest person in the room. There’s so many great shows on, you’re guaranteed to leave with your sides hurting from all the laughter. That’s a great way to end Father’s Day right?
We hope you can enjoy Father’s Day, and your dad is still proud of you by the end of it all, just don’t drink too much.
