Easter Weekend in London!

It may only be April, but it’s about time we get a well deserved four day weekend. Considering they come round only once a year, the weather would tell me that now’s the perfect time for it. This year Easter Sunday falls on the 21st of April, there’s lots more fun to be had though, as from Good Friday to Easter Monday London always pulls out all the stops when it comes to Easter! Not just for the children over the half term, but for the adults who have no idea how to spend their time off! Being one of the only socially acceptable times of the year to eat way too much chocolate, we thought you may want to get out of the house at least once. So we’ve put together a few events and places to go for when you’ve decided you can’t eat a single bit more of that Easter egg.

Starting off with Good Friday, and an annual tradition in Trafalgar Square. The passion of Jesus, is an incredible open air performance by the Wintershall Players. Completely free to attend, just turn up, it tells the story of the last few days of Jesus’ life. With thousands of people turning up every year to watch the performance it’s definitely one of the top of events of Easter in London. They do two performances throughout the day, one at 12pm, and another 3:15pm. Just make sure to get there a little early if you want decent seats.

Next to cover Saturday the 20th, Horniman Museum’s Easter fair will bring dozens of stalls to the museum’s gardens. With completely free entry, there will be lots on offer for you to enjoy your Easter weekend out in - hopefully - the bright sunshine! Their weekly Farmer’s market will be open to get locally sold vegetables, meats, breads, hot food, and a lovely bouquet of flowers if you feel like it. Then you can spend your time discovering some beautiful handmade products created by local designers, with their Arts and Crafts Market too. So lots of ways for you to spend your money on a great weekend, we know you’d only spend it on Easter eggs otherwise.

Finally after all of that, Easter Sunday comes around and you just can’t beat a classic Sunday Roast. A home-cooked roast with tons of gravy might be appealing, but Dead Doll’s House in Islington is here to steal your mum's crown. Despite the name, Dead Doll’s house provides the perfect place to relax for a Sunday roast with family and friends. Combining a central Islington location with a beautifully designed space, The Parlour is where you’ll be seated for a traditional roast. Only ever using fresh produce, depending on what’s in season they offer up pork, lamb, beef, and a couple vegetarian and vegan options too, so there’s options for everybody going. In addition they have an extensive cocktail, wine and craft beer list, and friendly staff. Dead Dolls House had to be put on the list for one of the go to Sunday Roasts. Don’t forget the legendary bottomless Bloody Marys and Mimosas too because there’s no better day than Easter Sunday to get smashed right?

Hopefully you can enjoy the weather, the chocolate, and the festivities for this great four day weekend!
