Still Deciding How To Spend Your Bank Holiday? Look No Further!

This weekend is the one we've all been waiting for, the August Bank Holiday. Where everything is going on and the city never sleeps. Festivals everywhere; from the Reading and Leeds festival to Notting Hill Carnival. If you are a carnival-goer make sure you check out our last post on carnival prep, you don't want to miss it! When you think of a bank holiday this is the one that gets you most excited. Every year there is something bigger and better. We want to make sure you aren't missing out on anything that is happening this weekend. Stay tuned for our recommended events and activities to make the most out of your bank holiday weekend!

Weekend Getaway

Airbnb has skyrocketed in the last few years with their brand seen everywhere you go. Take advantage of their service and get out of London for a couple of days. The places listed can be affordable and luxury! Perfect for a weekend getaway with your significant other of a group of friends! The app allows you to explore experiences and recommended restaurants so your time away is as good as it can be! You can enjoy well-known tourist attractions or even have locals take you around!

With London weather being so beautiful in recent weeks, we want you to make the most of it. A typical bank holiday day out would usually include the seaside. However, we would suggest staying away from popular beaches like Brighton. They will be extremely busy! None the less, there are loads of places to visit by the seaside! Ruislip Lido Beach in West London is a great alternative!

Shopping Centres

If you are a fellow shop-a-holic you'll be all over this next one! We have found you the top shopping centers near London so you can go shopping and make a day of it. The infamous Westfield is first on our list. With two locations across London, these centers are one of the biggest! You can find them in Stratford or White City; it is the number one location for fashion, beauty, and fresh food. You won't be bored, that's for sure! Details of how to get there and opening hours can be found on their website. If you are into shopping but love a discount, I have another option for you to sink your wallets into. Outlet stores- a shopping center for discounts! You can find London Designer Outlet right next to Wimbledon Stadium. This can prove great if you are going to an event there and want to be out for a whole day. However, if there is an event I would avoid this one as parking becomes £20 unless you spend over £40+ in LDO. In here you will find the likes of Nike, Levi and many more. Another great outlet on our list is Bicester Village; another designer outlet, housing Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Gucci, and others. Located in Oxfordshire, it is only 46 minutes from London Marylebone. It offers many different facilities, from shopping to food stalls.

The Monster

It's time to let out your inner child, with the world's largest bouncy castle! This weekend they are back; bigger and better! You will find "Three hundred meters of madness", beers, cocktails and street food! If this isn't enough, there is also a mega ball pit for you to explore. If you don't want to go on the bouncy castle you can be a spectator and attend the awesome party with a live DJ. There will be some serious 90's game show vibes happening; you don't want to miss this opportunity. The Monster will only be available for a limited time, with the tour ending in Birmingham on the 23rd September. Head to their website now and book tickets before it sells out!

Food Festival

To all the foodies out there, this one is for you. Hampton Court Palace is holding a food festival with everything you can imagine. There will be live demonstrations from some top chefs, such as Nasiya Hussain and Melissa Hemsley. Your taste buds will have a field day with over 100 companies offering their food for you to try! This can make a great family day out, with children's activities available too.

This is only a few of the great things you could be doing this weekend! London won't you down while you enjoy your long weekend.

Have a great time,
City Rooms.
