Places to Visit Animals in London

When you think of London, you think of a big brick jungle, and no matter what, it’s always busy. However, you’d be surprised to hear that London is surprisingly an animal lover’s haven. There are dozens of opportunities for you and your friends to encounter animals of all different sizes. With the options of seeing the more wild animals, and the cute, fluffy, domestic ones too. Here’s a quick rundown of-of a few of our favourites, from farms to animal cafes, all in the heart of London.

The Horniman Museum & Gardens has a lot on offer, that’s why we’re putting it right to the top of our list. You can follow along on their Animal Walk where you’ll get to see alpacas, goats, guinea pigs and more. There are lots of opportunities to get up close and personal with them all. Venture inside, and you’ll get to see their amazing little aquarium which has lots of different fish, very colourful frogs, and a beautiful tank with calming jellyfish. Once you’re done there, to top it all off you can take a leisurely walk through the butterfly house, and have a look at all the colourful winged creatures, fly around, or eat fruit.

Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium is a great chance to play with lots of cats if that’s your kind of thing, all whilst eating cake. Lady Dinah’s is the UK’s first cat café, and it’s been doing very well, since a wildly successful crowdfunding campaign for it! Whether you’re there for the tea and cake, a cuddle with the cats, or just to watch them enjoy their jobless, easy lives as you sit there with jealousy in your eyes. Lady Dinah’s is home to lots of friendly furballs who will happily sit with you whilst you have your tea and cake.

Stepney City Farm is another great place to visit some cute animals. The whole farm covers three acres, and it’s Tower Hamlets’ hidden gem. You can see pigs, goats, and sheep There is also the option to feed the animals as well, and at certain times you can even have the opportunity to hold the super fluffy cute ones.

At Hounslow Urban Farm, they have the most diverse range of animals in all the places on this list. You’ve got all the usual suspects of a farm, being chickens, ducks, and rabbits. Luckily there are some even more interesting, slightly unusual ones too. So if you’re into lizards, snakes, and tortoises this farm is perfect for you. If after seeing these animals you need to reminded of all the cuteness in the world, you can go see the micro pigs, pygmy goats, and cute barn owls too.

Battersea Park Children’s Zoo definitely has some animals that wouldn’t necessarily qualify to be on a  farm, so this Zoo has a lot to offer. Meerkats, lemurs, and wallabies are only a few on the list at this Zoo. There’s lots of cheeky monkeys here as well, as well as some cool lizards and wonderfully coloured parrots. However, if you’re looking for more than just animals, or you have some friends that aren’t as mature as you, you can take them over to the life-sized fire engine, the tractor, and go on the fort. which is the ideal place of entertainment and educational experiences for your family. If you’re looking for opportunities to actually meet the animals, this zoo offers up the chance to meet the pygmy goats, the Shetland ponies, and the giant rabbits!

Finally, at the bottom of our list, we have the first UK city farm! Kentish Town City Farm has over fifty different types of animals and the best thing about that is that it’s entirely free! One really cool opportunity you get when you go is that you can ride the ponies, there’s so many of them so even if it’s a busy day you can still have a ride, which is even better if you’ve never ridden one before! Other than getting to see all the animal there is a list of other activities that are available! You can pretend to be in ghost with your friend and go to a pottery class or convince yourself you’re going to start eating healthy and go to one of their healthy cooking classes!

Overall, these are some of the best locations for farms in London, with so many different animals to see the animal lovers of London will surely b set up for at least a little while!
