Escape Rooms in London

When it comes to a Saturday night, your go-to plans end up being partying, a nice dinner with family, or just a relaxed movie night with friends. It’s not often that your plans are to be locked in a room with said family and friends for the evening. Escape Rooms are ideal for anyone who wants to have a thrilling evening, one that may even bond you just a little bit, as long as you keep your sanity. Escape the room games started off as a Japanese craze, but since then they have really spread far and wide, making its way to London! With some very interesting scenarios to be involved in, you’re sure to have a fun night, maybe a little stressful, but overall worth it.

These escape rooms involve being “locked” in a room with a timer, usually counting down an hour. You and your team must solve the puzzles, get clues, and uncover different secrets to eventually get out before the timer hits zero. There are different types of games though, so if there are any styles you prefer then you have options. Some are focused on finding items by searching every single inch of the room to get clues. Some others are more about brain teasers and logic problems to get out. Then there are some that are based almost entirely around physical dexterity. Every single type of game is very high pressure, and adrenaline is pretty much always pumping. An hour may seem a long time when you’re at work, but in an escape room, an hour feels like ten minutes. These escape rooms have gained almost a cult following now, so luckily you can find so many different types and play different storylines, that you will practically never run out of options!

Time Run is a game where you travel through time and discover some of the world’s greatest secrets. You get to jump through a time portal, and then you’ll have to find your way through several different time periods in hopes of tracking down a very powerful weapon that's been lost. This game is filled with actors, so is even more interactive than usual. The sets are incredible as well, and you'll feel like the main character in a novel, going on an amazing journey. This is definitely an experience different from any of the others, which is perfect for an escape room so you’ll never run out of options.

Enigma Escape is a scenario that definitely feels all a bit too real, the scene is set with you and your team getting some exclusive tickets to Visionary Cinemas new horror flick ‘The Killer’. There is one issue though after you arrive and settle in, you find out you’ve been tricked and are locked in the theatre. You’ve now got a killer on the loose and you need to get off there before they get you.

Omescape is quite a bit darker in its themes than the previous ones I’ve mentioned but if that’s the sort of thing you’re looking for then this is perfect. All you need to know is the names of the games to figure out the certain tone they're trying to set. You won’t go into these games not really expecting anything other than scary. You can choose from the Penitentiary, the Joker’s Asylum and the Biohazard Laboratory. It is so well done, a lot of time and care has gone into the set, the props, and most importantly the puzzles. There is a good range of puzzles so you’ll come out with a frazzled brain from having to use every part of it to get out.

This is only a few of the dozens of options just in London, and if you’ve never experienced one, it is a lot of fun, and even if you do it once you’ll be talking about it for a long time afterwards.
