FAMOUS FILM LOCATIONS

Have you ever dream of being the star of a movie? If it is true London is the perfect place to feel like it, dozens of films are shootings every year so if you want to stand in main character’s shoes you should only walk around the differents neighborhoods of the city. Some of the most famous locations are:

1.Old Royal Naval College
Visiting this emblematic place can transform you in Jack Sparrow or even Lara Croft during some scenes of Tomb Ryder. In most of the cases this symbolic building is use to show the high society lifestyle in period films, this is the reason why also you can act like Sherlock Holmes walking around with a magnifier on your hand.

2. St Paul's Cathedral
We can consider Mary Poppin’s such a classic film for children so maybe you have seen, at least, once. One of the epic scenes during the dancing around the roofs between the chimney sweep and the lovely nanny elapses on the top of St Paul. If you want to sing “chim chimney” you are lucky because you can cover every inch of every corner at this magical Cathedral.

3. Battersea Power Station
The visible part of this inactive thermoelectric station has an industrial and moribund look, and that is why it is the favourite choice of multiple movie directors when they want to shoot action scenes. Be careful if you go alone for a walk because the dark knight could give you a scare.

4. Scotland Place, King’s Cross Station and Little Whinging Zoo.
If you are a fan of Harry Potter you will remember this building as the entrance of the ministry of magic, the main arch of the frontage is clearly visible in some scenes of the film “The Order of the Phoenix”. You can see little details that also appears in the film, for instance the phone box. If you consider yourself cinephile, King’s Cross Station is a memorable point in all of the saga films, is the place where Harry and his friends get the train every year before the start of the classes in Hogwarts. One of the funniest recommendation for the fans of the young magician is Little Whinging Zoo, where the protagonist discovers his magic powers. This is the perfect place to try some spells and discover if we should be studying at Hogwarts.

5. Westminster’s Bridge and Big Ben.
Maybe the most famous scene in which you can see the Big Ben is the final explosion of the film V for Vendetta when the entire building is demolish between a fireworks’ festival, symbolising the end of the politic system.
With the film “28 days later” we can go for a walk by the hand of Jim, a character who walks from St Thomas' Hospital to Picadilly Circus crossing differents streets of an empty London without survivors after an epidemic.
To end I recommend you to let your imagination fly watching one more time Peter Pan, he will guide you in a magical trip flying over this wonderful city.
