The Best Urban Beaches of London

If and when the lovely British Summer decides to show itself, we all would love to head down to the beach, but here’s the catch; By the time you’ve picked out your swimsuit, a date, and the right factor sunscreen the weather has already changed again before you stepped out of the door. With the busy London lives everybody seems to have around here, we can’t always venture too far out, but we still want to enjoy the sandcastles, cocktails, and beach loungers. This is where we have you covered. There's a few urban beaches dotted around London, they have the sand, water, drinks, and more. So you can enjoy it all without being too far away from home when it inevitably pours down!

Starting off with a great option right next to the Thames. Neverland’s Fulham Beach Club has a great atmosphere, definitely more on the adult side of things, rather than the family fun beach option. Not only does it have the beach for you, there's a fully stocked bar with great cocktails, and a restaurant with options for vegetarians too. The layout is very Instagram aesthetic as well, you may just be able to convince your friends you went on holiday. With the pastel beach huts, deck chairs, swings, and more! All throughout the summer months they have fun events going on too like disco nights, cinema nights, and parties too. Then at the weekend you can take yoga classes and bottomless brunches too! If that isn’t enough for you there are some fun games there too. You can get competitive with Shuffleboard, ping pong, beer pong, and croquet. One thing about this beach is that it can get pretty busy, so if you want to be able to get in the sand, get there earlier and grab the deck chairs!

Next we’re heading over to London’s biggest urban beach pop up ( so it can get pretty busy too). It’s in the middle of a car park at Brent Cross Shopping Centre. May not sound too appealing but they have so much on offer, not only do you get the beach, you get a funfair, games, and lots of food and drink stalls too! The 2500m squared beach can offer you all the fun you need for a day out, for it’s 40th anniversary it’s really pulling out all the stops! You’ll be seeing brazillian dancers, bumper cars, fire eating performances, roller coasters and even the classic beach side donkey rides. If the weather treats us well and it’s getting pretty hot they’ve got splash pools and 25 rides for all ages. If you needed to feel like you’re at the beach, then the food and drink takes on the classic seaside theme too. You’ve got fish and chips, doughnuts, churros, cocktails, slushies, the list doesn’t stop! The best part is that it’s open Monday-Sunday 12pm to 10pm and you can get free entry if you download their app!

This next one isn’t open until the 27th of this month, however you can still get some great fun in there when it does open. This one is at the Royal Docks, just by the Emirates AirLine.  They have several tonnes of sand for the perfect sand castles, whilst you watch the boats go by! Then when you get a bit hungry there’s several food stalls and places to get drinks so you can really enjoy your day out!

Hopefully you can catch the summer before it fades out again, so quickly grab your sunglasses and get to your nearest urban beach!
