Picnic Spots in London

Who doesn’t absolutely love a picnic? Especially when the weather starts coming around and we get a few hours off from London’s usually grey skies and cold weather!Laying out a big picnic blanket, the mini sausage rolls, and all the other little snacks. Then if you’re really feeling it bring out the alcohol too. Then if you hate everyone else around you just play some really loud music as well to really let everyone know that it’s your space.Anyway, there is so much potential for a great picnic in London, however we’re not here to tell you about Kew Gardens or Richmond Park. There are many great little spots of greenery that are perfect for a little stop with friends or just a nice lunch break out of the office with colleagues. So her is a few of our favourite options for picnics in London!

Starting off with an absolutely stunning place that you’d never expect to be mixed in with the rest of concrete busy London. You may have never known this place existed until being pointed out to you. It is hidden really well. We have St.Dunstan-in-the-East. It's a bombed out medieval church just near Aldgate, and it's got pretty views and lots of benches for you to sit, or on the grass if you fancy it! It has been completely overwhelmed with beautiful nature, with vines taking over every wall you’ll feel like you’re in a movie whilst enjoying your sandwiches. Be aware that the pretty aesthetic can attract lots of instagram opportunities so if you want to tick multiple things off the list at once then here is a great spot.

Next up is the pretty Culpeper Community Garden, it’s free to go and they aim to be open from 7am till dusk, so there’s lots of time to go! It’s a very friendly community garden, it is a little on the smaller side so you may not find the quietest of spots, but it’s also London, so just a nice patch of grass is still good, right? There are lots of peaceful classes for you to take as well, so if you’ve got some extra time and want to enjoy the peace and calmness of it all then you can join onto a few of those too.

Vauxhall Park is next with their beautiful Lavender Garden. There’s a lot for you to look at and enjoy at the park including a miniature village, and rose pergola, but the pride and joy is their stunning Lavender Garden, with dozens of rows of Lavender, if you’re the type to grab it anytime you pass a front garden you’ll be in your element here. There’s lots of benches surrounding the entire park too so you’ll definitely find somewhere nice to sit! A great thing about this garden is that when the lavender comes into harvest they use it to make tens of litres of lavender oil, so you know it will go to great use!

There is just a few of the hundreds of amazing options for picnic spots around London, let’s just hope that the weather holds out for a little bit longer to enjoy it!
