Here's some plans for Mother's Day this year!

Mother’s day isn’t too far away now, so it’s only fair you’re on top form for the most important woman in your life, your mum! You’ve still got two weeks to go before the 31st of March, but don’t forget, it’s a sunday so don’t go out on the town the night before. For those of you lacking some imagination and/or cash, we’ve put together a list of a few great options for you, that are all mum-friendly activities! Hopefully you’ll be able to leave a big smile on your mum’s face because we all know she deserves it after putting up with you for however many years. So lucky you, London is a great place to celebrate your mum, from the Sky Garden to sunday brunch, we have you covered.

Starting off with the Columbia Road Flower Market, it’;s open every single Sunday and is great for all the senses. A beautiful place, and what mum doesn’t love flowers. You can have a wander and enjoy all the pretty sights and smells, then let her pick out a beautiful bouquet. Luckily it’s very close to Shoreditch, so after you’ve painstakingly picked the perfect flowers you can go to a small cafe, or restaurant and get some nice lunch!

Next up, we have the Sky Garden, a visually stunning place, just off of Fenchurch Street. It’s the highest public Garden in London, and the best part is that it’s completely free to go there.  So if you’re on a tight budget you can enjoy a great time there with you mum and not worry too much about the bank, but you will need to buy her at least one drink probably. Which you can do as there’s quite a few restaurants and bars up there! You do need to book tickets though, but if somehow you fail to do that, they have walk-in options too so you may still have the chance to get in there.

If your mum loves Prosecco then London’s the city perfect for her. There are endless bars that are entirely dedicated to serving the perfect glass of Prosecco. Some of them have more than 20 options of Prosecco, some even on tap! Prosecco House in Tower Bridge is a great option to take your mum, however as it’s only the two of you, they only take in first come first serve walk ins so either get there in good time, or take 6 other people with you to get a booking.

Finally we have the classic Sunday Brunch, at Balthazar they have all options covered for you. Set in the heart of Covent Garden, the New York-style brasserie has the classic foods, but with an extra twist of american style pancakes and waffles. A full English breakfast is luckily only £15.75 so you can have a hearty meal, then have a wander around Covent Garden.

Hopefully there’s some options there for you and your mum to have a great day, which she surely deserves. Fingers crossed the weather is okay, because even though most of these options we’ve given you are inside, it’s nice to have a bright day!
