Vegan Street Food in London

Even just five years back treating yourself would have maybe meant breaking your diet to enjoy that amazing comfort food, but now that comfort food is all for us! If you’re looking for some of London’s best vegan street foods then we can definitely help you out. The capital of England is heading in the vegan direction and a lot of us are happy to see it, knowing we can gorge on the best guilty pleasures whilst not having an animal product insight is something that’s definitely gonna leave our wallets empty. There are options far and wide, but for now, we will be showing you four of our favourites. From kebabs to pie and mash, you’d have never realised some of your favourite dishes could be vegan and still just as tasty.

What The Pitta is one of the best places to get an amazing vegan kebab. They take the Turkish flare and make it vegan. This place is relatively new to scene compared to some others on our list, but that doesn’t take anything away from the incredible quality of the food. With freshly made bread wrapped around soya chunks, soya tzatziki, chilli sauce, salad, and homemade hummus you know you’re going to be getting some tasty food.

Biff’s Jack Shack is a very firm fixture amongst London’s best vegan food on the market. Using Jackfruit for most of their foods such as, wings, fillets, and burgers, it is perfect to recreate that texture that we new vegans sometimes crave.  Then covered in BBq sauce, chipotle coleslaw, and fake bacon jam, you know it’s gonna have your mouth watering already.

Temple of Seitan definitely has a name that leaves you a bit concerned at what you're getting yourself into, but luckily it’s not any kind of cult, it’s just seitan! For those who aren't familiar, seitan is a protein portion derived from wheat, it has a lot of health benefits too. They have made some crazy milestones this past year from going from a market stall to two new locations they are really taking London by storm. Seitan is absolutely perfect for deep frying and covering with some amazing sauces and spices. Their menu is full of crispy fillet burgers, wraps, wings, and mac and cheese! All vegan of course! Definitely head here if you’re the type to look eagerly into a chicken shop wishing it had just a little bit less chicken in it.

Finally, we have Young Vegans. An absolute classic of British culture is a hearty pie and mash, and it's not always easy to find a vegan version of the said favourite dish.  That’s why Young Vegans are perfect for this list, not only do they take a classic dish, they put other classic foods inside your pie. So it's pretty much inception of classic foods but vegan! You can have steak (seitan) and ale pie, English breakfast pie,  a curry pie, and our favourite, a sweet potato pie! They’ve now finally set up at Camden Market when they were previously at Hackney Downs and Tottenham Green Markets. But after all of the amazing savoury foods, let’s hope you have space for the delicious desserts, just one of them being their peanut butter chocolate mud pies!

So, let’s hope you can enjoy one if not all of the foods on this list, all vegan, all London. Maybe go on a day trip and eat them all, I know that what I’ll be doing!
