Stratford is a district in East London, England, in the London Borough of Newham.
This area which transformed into an industrial suburb following the introduction of the railway in 1839. As part of the growth of London in the late 19th. 
Stratford is the location of the London Olympic park and is currently experiencing regeneration and expansion linked to the 2012 summer Olympics games. 



The Stratford Centre and the recently opened, Westfield Stratford City, home to 300 stores, is one of the largest shopping centrers in Europe. 



The 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games will have their main base at the Olympic park, wich will contain a significant  number  of venues including the olympic stadium, Aquatics centre, and London Velopark. The athletes Olympic Village  will be restructured post the games as the new east village development, providing 3500 houses, half and half  private. After the  Olympics the legacy  plans included the largest new urban park in europe for a century and the new Chobham Academy


Stratford is a significant transport hub with five major stations. Stratford Regional, Stratford International, Stratford High Street, Maryland and Pudding Mill lane.

There are many public transport connections such as tube (Central and Jubilee line). In addition, there are many several bus routes also serve the area; buses 25, 69, 86, 97, 104, 108, 158, 238, 241, 257, 262, 276, 308, 339, 425, 473, N8... .

Also there is the station for London overground, DLR and National rail.

London Overground regularly serve the station to London liverpool Street, Romford, the east of england, Stansted and Southend airports, and other parts of north London.

The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) was extended to Stratford, and to Stratford international, with service to Poplar, Canary Wharf, Lewisham, London city airport, the Excel Centre, Beckton and Woolwich Arsenal.
